The Effect of AI Chatbot-Based Tourism English Instruction on Intercultural Communicative Competence

The present study aimed at investigating AI chatbot-based Tourism English instruction for college students to develop their intercultural communicative competence. For the study, two distinctive models of based educational approach were proposed; learning with (LWAI) and about (LAAI). A total 50 3 learners model LWAI assigned conduct a conversation chatbot during semester, while 20 6 LAAI asked build hotel chatbot. In LWAI, collected reports analyzed in terms task completion rates. It was found that conversations mostly involved small talk rather than problem-solving tasks.
